After a bit of a performance hiatus, I will be taking once again to the stage for two great gigs this winter.
Saturday 23 November 2013, 11.30am-midnight (all day event), Interrobang Festival
An all-day extravaganza hosted by Annexe Magazine, taking place across all floors of the Betsey Trotwood as well as at the Free Word Centre. Featuring performances of prose, poetry, theatre, comedy and music by a host of names including Inua Ellams, Eley Williams, Leisure and Hiatus. There will also be a zine fair, bookmaking workshops, and general tomfoolery (in a safe and informative bookish environment). The full line-up can be viewed over on the festival’s Facebook page. Annexe also tweet writerly things, here.
Wednesday 11 December 2013, 7.30pm at the Good Ship, Kilburn Listen Softly London
An evening of poetry, storytelling and music featuring Rob Auton (The Sky Show), Anthony Hett, Patchy and more. Fundraising for two charities doing essential work to provide sanctuary for those affected by suicide, and to help protect the mental health of care-experienced youngsters: Maytree and The Tope Project. Listen Softly London is on Twitter here.
Both performances are taking place in London (Farringdon/Kilburn respectively). If you’d like to come along, tickets are available for Interrobang via the link above, and for Listen Softly London tickets can be bought on the door.
I’ve been spending a lot of today writing new material (as well as jotting down some ideas for Novel Number Two), so it would be really nice to see some supportive faces in the crowd as I try out some new things, and go through a few of my tried and tested favourites. Because it’s nice to mix things up. And because these events are inspiring, so I’ll try my best to do them both justice.
Hope to see some of you there,
